School in the Square
Originally known as the Hurst House, this historic mansion has transformed significantly over the decades. After sitting vacant for nearly 40 years, it has now reopened as a charter school following a year-long renovation completed by Wesbuilt. The restored building features nine classrooms, a pantry, administrative offices, and a play yard. The renovation preserved key elements of the original 1912 structure, including a recreated roof and a grand portico entrance, breathing new life into this historic landmark. This revival offers the neighborhood a renewed piece of its past, fostering a space for future generations to learn and grow.
